The Dying Pines

pinkytheent A very tasty little treat! Musical influence melds very well here, feeling like a real love and channeling of the rock/metal and folk/country/bluegrass worlds rather than a gimmick trying to glue the two together. This music is like colorful prog rock stage lights emanating from a misty Appalachian holler. Favorite track: Let The Buried Lie Forgotten.

MMJBE The Huntsmen (not only this song): The Huntsmen are special in every way I can think of. Can`t find a fitting musical piece to compare this band. Ain`t nessesary though. Doomy. Gloomy. Gentle. Stormy. Thundering. Breathtaking. Melodic. This band is UNIQUE. Listen to them. Not in your car, not at a party. Just in Moments of fear, uncertainty and some Anger.

Trust me: The Huntsmen (and Women) guide you through the Storm.

An over the top review? Go hunting!

Colin M. The blend of Americana and metal has always been a fascinating one, and is on full display here. Killer as always. Favorite track: Let The Buried Lie Forgotten.

Take me where the old oak grows, Where the winding river flows. I’ll make my peace with fern and stone. Take me where the old oak grows. Take me where my father lay, Where the ragged edges beg. Return me to the dust and clay. Take me back to where my father lay. Take me to the ashen pyre, Where all I love was set afire. May every cruel and lonesome road Take me back to the ashen pyre. Take me to the dying pines, I’ll see you in the dying light. May every death lead back to life, And live on among the dying pines.

Already dark corners were whispering Of a culling, a reaping, a reckoning When you left these times to us, And impending calamity. A creaking, a groaning, a splintering, The shared chore of belabored breathing, As if the air was filled with pitch, The match yet unlit. As if this moment froze in waiting, a final gasp before the plunge. May sorrow starve our souls of stillness, may terror purify our blood. To the ones who departed this ravaging, The bowels of their bondage unraveling, May their bones be laid in peace, And their memory spared from grief. Let the buried lie forgotten. Free them from tomorrow’s cares. Invoke them not into these hours. These trials are for living souls to bear.

Carry On 06:42
One morning I woke up and I knew you were really gone. A new day, a new way, and new eyes to see the dawn. Go your way, I’ll go mine. The sky is clearing and the night has cried enough. The sun, he comes, the world to soften up. Rejoice, rejoice, we have no choice. The fortunes of fables are able to sing a song: Now witness the quickness with which we get along. To sing the blues, you’ve got to live the dues, and carry on. Carry on, love is coming. Love is coming to us all. Where are you going now, my love? Where will you be tomorrow? Will you bring me happiness? Will you bring me sorrow? The questions of a thousand dreams, What you do with what you see… Brother, can you talk to me? Girl, when I was on my own chasing you down, What was it made you run, trying your best just to get around? The questions of a thousand dreams, What you do with what you see… Brother, can you talk to me? Carry on...

about

Huntsmen Chicago, Illinois

Whilst storytelling has been - and remains - at the core of all that HUNTSMEN is, they continue to dissolve the boundaries between metal and the more traditional modes of folk and country. Mandala of Fear marries melody and progressive elements to create an undulating foundation to layer its dystopian missive on atop.

'Mandala of Fear' is available now.
